Liudmila Iliuchina

Liudmila Iliuchina devotes her practice to the human figure and portraiture, working in ink, pencil, pastel and oil. Drawing primarily from life, she captures the vitality, plasticity and psychological presence of her subjects with precision and restraint.

Her choice of materials is integral to the expressive structure of the work: toned paper lends depth and tonal subtlety to her pastels, while oil paint on canvas allows for dense, luminous surfaces and sculptural form.

Born and educated in Moscow, Liudmila has lived since 1985 in Palanga, the Lithuanian seaside town whose atmosphere adds the unique texture to her work. Through exhibitions and ongoing dialogue with fellow artists, she continues to refine a practice grounded in observation and classical discipline.

Liudmila Iliuchina’s work unites technical rigor with perceptual immediacy, offering a nuanced study of human presence through the language of figurative art.
